Island's Wild South
JULY 31 - AUG 05, 2027
The island on the Arctic Circle is a dream come true for any off-roader
Stunning, largely untouched nature and friendly people.
Amid volcanoes, glaciers, and geysers. A trip to Iceland is one of life’s most special experiences; hardly any other country offers such a diverse landscape and unique natural spectacles. The Icelandic people also have a charm all their own.
Hospitality and warmth are highly valued in Iceland.
Experience Iceland in your own SUV!
Flight time from Germany - about 3 hours - it's something you should do at least once in your life!
A destination for your “bucket list.” An adventure in an off-road paradise.
Of course, we’ll explore the highlights of this polar island—from the famous geyser to the little-traveled trails in the highlands and down into the labyrinth of volcanoes and glaciers in the south of the island. It’s only on the trails in the highlands that you truly appreciate the island’s unspoiled nature and remoteness in the middle of the Atlantic.
Bizarre mountain ranges, hot springs, thundering waterfalls, countless river crossings that change daily, and endless expanses await us on our tour. You’ll soon see why we’re regarded worldwide as the experts on Iceland.
Individual arrival and departure are scheduled for Saturday. In the afternoon, we’ll meet at the hotel - and kick off our trip with a comprehensive briefing.
Afterward, we'll go out for dinner together in Reykjavík.
Ship a vehicle or rent one locally
If you want to ship your own vehicle yourself, there are several options.
First, via Denmark - entering from the east.
Or, as we recommend, from Rotterdam - arriving in Thorlakshövn.
To be on the safe side, you should ship the vehicle 14 days in advance. We’d be happy to clear the vehicle through customs and transport it to Reykjavík. An exciting alternative is definitely renting an SUV right at the airport. We’d be happy to advise you on this with no obligation.
A note on rental cars:
If you don’t want to or can’t bring your own off-road vehicle, it’s no problem at all to rent a suitable vehicle in Iceland. We’d be happy to provide you with more information about this, with no obligation. For example, the following vehicles are available locally: Jeep Wrangler JL, Toyota Land Cruiser / Prado 150 and 250, Land Rover Defender, and other high-performance vehicles, many of which have been modified. It’s important that they have a low-range transfer case and a wading depth of at least 70 cm.
Best of the Best
Our days in the south are all guided by the same motto: Get off the beaten path quickly and always go for the “best of the best.” Everything, of course, depends on natural conditions, such as volcanic activity.
But if you consider us “the Iceland specialists” worldwide, we have the perfect solution for every situation.
Hotel Recommendation: This is where we'll be staying
If the rooms are fully booked during peak seasons, we will arrange accommodations at hotels of at least the same class.

- Tag 3: Landhotel
- Tag 4: Landhotel
